The world of communications has been forever altered by the growth of online tools. Whether we use the jargon of new media, social networking, online community, or web 2.0, it is important to not be left behind in this rapidly changing landscape.

When creating your organization's new media strategy, it is important to look at it not just through the lens of fundraising or of marketing, but of an overall communications plan.

Should you be blogging? Should you be on Twitter or Facebook? What about video or podcasts? What expectations should you have and how much work and resources will it require?

I can work with your nonprofit in answering these questions and creating your online communications strategy and plan.

I have been involved with online communications on a personal level since 1993, and was an early user of blogger, YouTube, and Twitter, and have seen what works, and what doesn't. Professionally, I was the Director of Online Community Development for HandsNet and have blogged extensively on nonprofits and new media.

I also have experience in video production, having directed a documentary that has played several film festivals, and created videos that have received over 1.7 million views on YouTube.

To discuss the needs of your organization, please contact me at ken at goldstein.net or by phone at 408.396.3677. If I feel we may have a fit, we will arrange an initial meeting at which we will discuss your organization's situation and needs and create a personalized plan.

Rates: An hourly rate is usually preferable. My rates are fair and competitive, and I try to discount for small, newer organizations.

Geographic Limitations: Single presentations or one-time facilitations can be arranged throughout Northern California. Longer term assignments are limited to Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties.
